Projects and User Participation Manager for Mental Health Organisation

Sandwell African Caribbean Mental Health Foundation provides a range of day services predominantly for African and African-Caribbean adults recovering from mental ill-health, their families, carers and the wider community. The charity would like to invite applications for the above post.

Pay: £25,000 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week

Term: 12 months fixed – potential to extend beyond the initial period subject to funding.

The Projects and User Participation Manager will join the team to implement and deliver the Building Futures Project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The post-holder will manage a service designed to support ex-offenders with mental ill-health or those at risk of developing mental ill-health, to re-build their lives and emotional resilience and their families. You will be required to line manage staff and achieve the project milestones in accordance with the project plan. In addition, the post-holder will manage user participation and involvement within the organisation to include coordination of the user forum, co-production meetings, user social activity and focus groups.

You will need to have experience in project management, knowledge of the issues that may characterise the experiences of Black African, Caribbean Black, dual heritage and BME adults who are recovering from mental ill-health. The ability to monitor and evaluate a project and to work flexibly, including weekends, are also required.
